Parrs Park, Auckland

Nick Robinson was the lead consultant for the extension and development of Parrs Park, Auckland including comprehensive proposals for the new access road, parking, extensive planting and sustainable drainage and wetland habitat. The proposals also included extensive development of foot and cycle routes, planting and flower meadow management. We provided all landscape design input and managed the engineering and stormwater design from the concept stage, resource consents to tender documents. A feature of the design is the use of treatment-detention swales which allow all stormwater to be managed naturally on site without the use of pipes, and provides the opportunity to enrich the roadside with wetland planting. Slim-line road design helps to reduce run off and as well as assisting with traffic management and reducing the visual intrusion of the road.
