Mangere Gateway Heritage Area

Nick Robinson undertook the assessment of the historic agricultural landscape of Ihumato and its relationsghip to the Otuataua Stonefields, and reported on various options for the proposed structure plan and by-pass routes north of the extension to Auckland International Airport. Situated immediately north of the new airport's runway the Mangere Gateway Heritage Area is adjacent to the regionally significant Otuataua Stonefields Historic Reserve and incorporates significant cultural, archaeological and geological features. Nick provided landscape evaluation, planning recommendations, design guidance and proposals for low impact development in this highly sensitive cultural landscape.
