Bolsover historic centre

Bolsover public realm and infrastructure upgrade.

Nick Robinson landscape architecture + urban design was appointed as part of the team to audit and assess the public realm of the historic town centre of Bolsover, in the UK and to make proposals for improvements. A selection of urban design options were put forward that both enhance its historic character and improve local business and community opportunities. The proposals and supporting evidence formed part of the District Council’s bid to European Regional Development Fund. This was a collaborative project, carried out in tandem with DSA Environment + Design Ltd and Purcell heritage architects.

Left: The town centre contains many buildings that are listed or of recognised merit. The public realm spatial design must support this composite heritage character.
